…and their obsession with wanting to integrate and sync everything across devices whether you want to or not? I’ve just got hold of new Android and Win 7.5 mobiles to have a play with and what a pigs breakfast the whole thing is now.
All I want in a phone is:
Something big enough to see the screen on but that doesn’t resemble a squashed brick in size – I’d rather something 4 or 5mm fatter with size shaved off the length and width than thickness as it’d be more pocketable and we could have a decent battery in it that lasts.
- Something to make calls and send texts/emails with that allows me to just sync the contacts I actually want on the phone and not everyone on FB, twitter, windows/xbox live etc most of whom I don’t know, don’t want to know and never contact.
- Something I can play music and video on with enough storage for it and not require streaming or cloud storage as that just costs more and relies on a connection or special PC software to sync rather than just drag/drop what I want on it.
- Something I can use as a pocket GPS off-line and not require a 3G connection to be of use with room to store the maps.
- Something I can install the odd useful app or game on and play it without being pestered by inapp purchases and ads using up my data allowance and battery.
Does such a phone exist? Or are they all going down the integrate and sync everything while giving you a crap battery you can’t replace and hardly any storage space and no MicroSD slot so you can expand it?
